Google’s Tool for Shelf Inventory Management 📦
Google Cloud has created a new AI tool called "shelf inventory" to help big-box retailers better track their inventory on shelves. The tool uses videos and images from the retailer's own cameras or store associates to identify and analyze the availability of consumer-packaged goods on shelves. The tool is currently in preview and will be available to retailers in the coming months. This tool will help retailers improve product availability, replenish out-of-stock items faster and lose fewer sales opportunities.

ChatGPT’s Competitor!? - Claude by Anthropic AI 🤯
Anthropic, an AI startup, has developed a new AI assistant named Claude, which is similar to ChatGPT. Based on the research paper on Constitutional AI, Claude differs from ChatGPT in its approach to reinforcement learning and uses a model to generate the initial rankings of fine-tuned outputs, rather than human feedback.
Claude is a serious competitor to ChatGPT, with improvements in some areas like its ability to write coherently about itself and its limitations, and has more naturalistic writing. However, it has some shortcomings in tasks like code generation and reasoning through logic problems.
Personalizing Text-to-Image Generation 🔮
Here’s a new AI tool that allows for personalizing text-to-image generation using textual inversion. The approach is based on learning to generate specific concepts, like personal objects or artistic styles, by describing them using new "words". These new words can be composed into natural language sentences, guiding personalized creation in an intuitive way, including visual art styles, and can reduce biases inherited from the training data.

AI art - Legal or Illegal? 🖼️
A group of three artists has filed a lawsuit against Stability AI, Midjourney, and DeviantArt, claiming that they have infringed the rights of "millions of artists" by training their AI tools on five billion images scraped from the web "without the consent of the original artists." The lawsuit has been filed by the same lawyers who are also currently suing Microsoft, GitHub, and OpenAI in a similar case involving the AI programming model CoPilot.
Will we finally have some clarity from a legal perspective on this controversial issue?
