Latest Developments 🌍
DALL.E but 3D 🎨
OpenAI has released Point-E, an opensource AI model that can quickly generate 3D objects from complex text prompts. It is capable of producing 3D models in just 1-2 minutes on a single GPU, which is significantly faster than other state-of-the-art methods that can take hours to do the same. Point-E can be used for 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality, visual effects, computer-aided design, and robotics. It is opensource, with both the code and model available for use.
New Embedding Model by OpenAI 💫
OpenAI has released a new embedding model, text-embedding-ada-002, which is significantly more powerful, cost-effective, and simpler to use than the previous models. It outperforms the Davinci model on text search, code search, and sentence similarity tasks while being 90% cheaper. It also has a longer context length (8192) and a smaller embedding size (1536 dimensions) than Davinci.
Examples of how the API can be used in action include Kalendar AI using it to match customers to the correct sales pitch and Notion using it to improve their search function.

AI Soccer Players ⚽🏃
DeepMind has created AI agents that can play soccer in a simulation without communicating with each other, with the aim of maximizing their own incentive. The model studied motion-capture video clips of humans playing in order to gain control of digital humanoids and the ability to play.
Through repeated competition and teamwork complex strategies emerge, as well as behaviors such as passes, shoots, and assists, which are emergent properties of reinforcement learning among a population of agents. Read this paper from DeepMind to dig deeper!

Visual Prompt Builder 🖼️
Want to up your Prompt Engineering game? Visual Prompt Builder is a great tool to help you visually in building comprehensive and effective prompts for image-generation models. This tool works by allowing users to browse through a library of images to understand the different parts of the prompt and design a unique one that can be used to feed the models. It also includes an option to add additional text to the prompt and customize it further.
Twitter Search got Smarter 🔍
Bird SQL is a Twitter search interface that uses Perplexity's structured search engine and OpenAI Codex to translate natural language queries into SQL. It uses advanced search algorithms to allow users to find specific information on the platform. It can be used to find popular tweets, discover new users to follow, filter content, and analyze social interactions on Twitter.

The new Embedding API is great and opens up a bunch of possibilities that were not possible before due to price. I was able to embed all Huberman Lab episodes (~100 episodes / ~2h long each) for just 2$ - and you can build Q&A/Search engines on top of that with not too much effort :)
+ Great comparison of the AI Writing Tools! With so many players it's hard to follow but this summary is great!
